A 71-year-old Quilcene man was hurt when he lost control of his motorcycle while riding on US Highway 101 in Mason County Saturday afternoon.
The man was traveling north on the highway near Rustic Ridge when he rode onto the soft right shoulder of the roadway and lost control. The rider lay the motorcycle down and was unable to get out from underneath the bike when it came to rest in the ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The crash happened just after 2:30 p.m. July 8 near Milepost 316 on the highway.
The injured rider was taken by an aid unit to Mason General Hospital in Shelton for treatment.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, according to the State Patrol.
