A man who was reported missing while hiking in Olympic National Park late last week has been found safe.

Park officials announced on the Facebook page for Olympic National Park that John Solomon, the 21-year-old hiker from Maryland who was reported missing Tuesday morning, has been located and is uninjured.

Solomon was reported missing while hiking in Olympic National Park. According to rangers, Solomon had a wilderness permit for a visit to the park for July 22 through July 26, and had planned to hike back to the Graves Creek Trailhead via Enchanted Valley, Anderson Pass, Camp Siberia, LaCrosse Pass, Two Bear, and Six Ridge.

Park Rangers later found Solomon’s vehicle at the Graves Creek Trailhead in the Quinault Rain Forest.

Three search teams were called out Wednesday to search for Solomon, going over possible routes he could have taken on his itinerary.

A family member reported him missing to park officials at 10 a.m. Tuesday, when the family did not hear from him after he was supposed to exit the wilderness after a second planned trip in the Hoh Rain Forest that Solomon had planned for Sunday, July 26.
