The East Jefferson Rivals middle school wrestling team recently completed their second meet of the season in Port Angeles on Wednesday, March 6. The 26 wrestlers competed with three other North Olympic schools and wrestled 52 matches through the course of the evening.
"We had 15 wins tonight, which shows we are improving as a team", said Coach Joe Banks. “During our first event we won 28% of all matches we competed in. Tonight we won 30% of our matches. We will take it!"
A few wrestlers who performed well included Chimacum 8th grader Aiden Glenn, 7th Grader Ty Haddenham, and 6th Grader Boston Huntingford.
"We have 10 Chimacum kids who make up a good chunk of our team,” stated Coach Jim Wilcox. "It sure is nice having those hard workers in our room to help push the pace."
The East Jefferson Wrestling Team will host the next North Olympic League Meet at the PTHS gymnasium from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13.
