On Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, Michael John Hamilton passed away at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 85.
Michael was born in Chicago, Illinois on Feb. 17, 1937. He is survived by his wife Karen Irene who he married in December of 1991, after which he emigrated to Canada. Michael was a regular volunteer for seven years at Godson Elementary School, and was an avid swimmer, diver, kayaker, and canoeist. He was also proficient in Scottish Country Dancing and danced with the Dem team at many Highland games. He sang and danced with the Fraser Valley Stage in Buxton England and Waterford Ireland.
Even though Canada became their primary home, Michael and Karen continued to spend as much time as possible in Port Townsend. Michael was active in various organizations, a good neighbor and friend to many, and faithful in attendance at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Funeral services were held on Friday, March 11, 2022, at St. Ann’s Church of Abbotsford, BC.
