“You were so perfect!”

The Lord called our beautiful angel, McKenzie Rose Thacker home on Friday, June 18, 2021. Our lives were so blessed with the brief time we had with McKenzie. It is unexplainable why she was taken so soon, and her loss has sent inexpressible shockwaves throughout this community and our hearts.

McKenzie was born in Port Townsend, Washington to Austin James Thacker of Port Townsend and Chandra Lee Thacker (Yackulic) also from Port Townsend on Sept. 20, 2019. McKenzie was so beautiful, she was the sun and the moon to all who knew her, simply perfect. McKenzie’s camera-ready “cheese grin” will always be a memory shared by loved ones. She was obsessed with her favorite blanket that she liked to chew on at times. No matter how many times her parents tried to wash it or remove the tattered corner, it went everywhere with her. McKenzie followed her sisters everywhere and would often say, “I love ya Bae Bae!” She loved to play outside and go to the park. Her adventurous spirit seemed endless. Her smile and dimples melted hearts constantly. Her dance moves motivated everyone around her. McKenzie knew only love, she radiated joy and light, always so happy and smiling.

McKenzie’s ethereal and angelic presence leaves an emptiness that no one could have imagined, but we are overwhelmed by the love and support our community and family has showered us with. We take incredible comfort knowing she is greeted in Heaven by her grandmother, Carrie Lynn Thacker and cousin Cody Shepherd Thacker. She leaves behind parents, Austin and Chandra Thacker; her two older sisters, Trinity Carrie Thacker and Kaelyn Lee Thacker; her expected sister Everleigh Ellen Thacker, (due January 2022,); grandparents, Jeff Thacker, Rhonda Hos, Randy Yackulic and Alona Cowing; as well as more aunts, uncles and cousins than anyone could ever imagine. Our lives have changed forever by our good fortune of the brief time we had with McKenzie. She is loved forever and will always be so perfect

Celebration of life will be held at noon Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 153 Stark Road, Port Ludlow, WA 98365-9513.
