Mary Ann (Hunter) Walker, age 92, passed away on March 2, 2025, in Novi, Michigan, where she was near her son Mike, daughter-in-law Esther, their children and grandchildren. The daughter of William Hunter and Winifred Pickering, Mary Ann was united in marriage to John Arthur Walker, on July 8, 1951 in Homewood, Illinois.

Mary Ann was born in Hammond, Indiana, grew up in Homewood, Illinois, where she met and married her husband of 65 years, John Walker. As a young wife of an Air Force officer, she started her family of four children in Iowa, Illinois, the Philippines, back to Illinois, then on to San Jose, California, where she raised her family. She later lived in Lompoc, California, Cape Canaveral, Florida, Port Ludlow, Washington, and Novi, Michigan.

Mary Ann was a lifelong student of the Bible and an active member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, San Jose, California, First Presbyterian Church, Port Townsend, Washington, First Presbyterian Church, Lompoc, California, Port Ludlow Community Church, Port Ludlow, Washington, and Ward Presbyterian Church, Farmington Hills, Michigan.

A committed wife and mother, she was loyal and devoted to her family and friends. Always hospitable and gracious, Grandma created thanksgiving dinners that left lasting memories on all who attended.

She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed working with her hands. She was a great crafter, always making something (creative greeting cards were a specialty). She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening; you could always find orchids flourishing in her kitchen window. She had a keen eye for decorating and created a beautiful home wherever she lived. As an empty nester, she enjoyed the RV club, aquacise, and golf.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by son Jeffrey Walker (Terry) and husband John Walker and is survived by her children Mike Walker (Esther), Mark Walker (Lynn), and Suzy White (Jim), 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos Almaden Rd, San Jose, CA 95124 on Friday, April 11 at 12:00 noon, followed by a Thanksgiving style dinner in memory of her hospitality and love of family gatherings.
