Make PT better: Vote Wennstrom | Letter to the editor

I was raised in Port Townsend. I know the entirety of the town like the back of my hand and I have immense pride to say I am from Port Townsend, Washington.

I want the town I grew up in to thrive and the best possibility of that happening is by electing Libby Wennstrom to Port Townsend City Council.

I first met Libby when I was a sophomore in high school struggling with my academic work and confused about where I would go with my future.

Now I’ve almost graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a degree in political science and journalism and I can say with certainty I wouldn’t be where I am without Libby.

I cherish Libby as my mentor and as a friend who cares about the community she lives in and has given back time and time again.

Crafting costumes for the local high school and community theatre productions, organizing masks making and distribution drives at the beginning of COVID-19, taking on many young people and helping shape them into finer adults then they would have ever turned out to be without her. Libby has an immeasurable amount of pride to live in Port Townsend and the care she has for the town and its people carry over into every aspect of her life.

There isn’t a single individual that I can say is more sensible and logical than Libby and that doesn’t back down when faced with adversity. She is a strong candidate, she is the right candidate. I don’t live in Port Townsend anymore, but my family is here, my roots are here and PT will always be my home.

So please, let’s make it better. Elect Libby for Port Townsend City Council.
