Indivisible Port Townsend is committed to defeating the Trump agenda, and we keep working away at it. The Trump administration shows more concern for its polling numbers than the health of the American people. The federal government must do more to combat the epidemic and relieve the economic suffering of the American people.
We are indeed lucky to live in Jefferson County, Washington. Our willingness to adhere to public health guidelines has not only flattened the disease curve, we have had no new cases for over two weeks! We’ve proven we know how to stop this disease from getting out of control. As we slowly relax some restrictions, we will need to take care we don’t move too quickly, thereby reigniting the disease.
Yes, we have stopped the disease; but, the cost has been very high. Many of our neighbors are suffering economically. It will be a long time before they regain the opportunity to thrive.
