Linda Christine Nelson was born July 15, 1948 to parents Jonas and Kristjana Nelson on a small farm near Svold, North Dakota. She passed away on May 25, 2019. She lived in North Dakota until the age of 13 when she moved to Seattle with her family after the death of her father. She graduated from Ballard High School in Seattle in 1966. She attended Shoreline Community College for several quarters. She married Gary Safadago in 1970 and they had 2 children, Cody and Jade. They were later divorced. She is preceded in her death by her son Jade, her parents, her second husband, William Heinkel (former owner of the Town Tavern in Port Townsend), her brother Fredrick Nelson, 1 nephew, 2 nieces and 2 great nieces. Survivors include her son, Cody Safadago, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Raymond Nelson and Jonas Nelson, her 3 sisters, Lois Warehime, Louise Testerman and Margaret Wright and 16 nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Her passion in life was singing and sharing time with her family and friends.
