LETTER: Trump, the Holy Spirit and the Hokey-Pokey

I don’t think this all started in 2016. It goes back to the Emancipation Proclamation, then to the Civil War, and was carried on by Jim Crow and other factions.

Then there was Little Rock, Arkansas, and Selma, Alabama, in the 1960s and ’70s. They were outvoted in the election of Barack Obama, twice. I think the shame of having their Confederate flag taken down at their state house didn’t help the hate that’s been festering and abroilin’ for a century.

The Donald fanned all that hate and dissension for his own pleasure. I sincerely doubt, in my heart of hearts, that the Donald has ever had a visit from the “Holy Spirit.” Amen.

I also firmly believe that the Donald can’t do the Hokey-Pokey, you know, ya puts yer right foot in, ya puts yer right foot out, ya put yer left foot in and shake it all about.
