In Chris Tucker’s story “Port Townsend officially a ‘welcoming city’” [April 5 edition], the reporter wrote that I had written a “short poem,” which I read before the council Monday, March 27.
Actually, I read two short poems, transcribed inaccurately in Mr. Tucker’s good article. Here they are, in the correctly formatted versions:
“Sanctuary City” –
wherever stand-up people
stand up
and
“Welcoming City”
as in a term for a tourist ad,
not resistance
to the hate-mongering
of a would-be dictator.
