When reading my copy of the Wednesday, April 19 Port Townsend Leader, I noticed that you had included the Port Ludlow Voice insert Moving It On as part of your Living Green section.

The insert was an update of one that has been periodically published in the [Port Ludlow] Voice for a number of years – at least since 2000.

The original was compiled by a Port Ludlow resident, Kate Madson, and was called Living with Less. The idea was, and is, to provide residents with a handy list of places to recycle or otherwise dispose of items that no longer served the owner’s purpose.

The current list was revised in 2016 by Mariah Lynn Nadeau, who was suggested by the original author. Ms. Nadeau also received a number of copies to distribute as she pleased. The document is housed now on the Port Ludlow Voice website, where it can be accessed and copied at will. The address is plvoice.org.

You err in suggesting that all revisions should go through Ms. Nadeau. We at the Voice plan to continue to update this document as needed. Proposed revisions should also be sent to the managing editor, bbrowne@plvoice.org, or to mronen@plvoice.org.

Editor’s note: The Moving It On list was published last year as well, thanks to Ms. Nadeau. As noted in the introduction to that list, it was based on the original Port Ludlow Voice list, a copy of which is also now available on Jefferson County Public Health’s website.

The Leader asked Nadeau for any updates she had this year, and she promptly sent them to us. The Leader also has been advised of some changes.

The more information that is published on how to reuse and recycle, the better. We applaud the Voice for having started this important public resource.
