For the past seven years, I have had the honor of being a member of the Olympic Area Agency on Aging’s (O3A) Advisory Council (AC). Currently, we are recruiting two more individuals from Jefferson County to serve on the Advisory Council, represent the needs of elders in our county. In addition, we are looking for representative, (who could also be from Clallam County), who belongs to a major ethnic /racial minority or has ties to the elder LGBTQ community. And finally, we are recruiting a locally elected representative.

Each of these gratifying positions is for a three year, renewable term. O3A serves Clallam Jefferson Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties as the safe entry point for elders, adults with disabilities, and caregivers to find the services they need in order to age in the place of their choice. O3A helps to coordinate services so that many elders and adults with disabilities are able to remain at home instead of a nursing home.
