When driving north on State Route 20 from the airport cutoff, you will notice two sections of very crowded trees overhanging the highway. The first one is Seton Road to Frederick Street. The second section is from Mill Road to the first roundabout going in to town. Dangerous roadway areas, well,
to many of us who have lived here for many years now. We have seen the changes in the overhanging trees and limbs in the two sections that I speak of. Some are hanging on wires, either phone or electric wires; some are broken limbs just hanging there to catch the wind. Some are dead or dying.
What will it take to remove the trees that are completely unsafe to us by either driving a car or peddling a bike? State Route 20 is state highway, so shouldn’t they remove any trees that are in peril?
What may happen, as it has happened elsewhere, is that a tree will fall on a driven car with passengers, and people will perish. And then there will be sadness and lawsuits.
