LETTER: A warm response from PUD

Last week or so, a friend of mine’s home lost power. She’s over 80 years old. She heats her home with an electric furnace.

She called me after sitting for a day and a half in the cold. She didn’t know how to reset her furnace. I said, “I’ll call the PUD.” It was off-business hours (maybe a weekend), and an operator taking calls answered. I told her the situation with my friend, and she said she’d get someone out there to help. Within the hour, a PUD person arrived at her home and had her taken care of. She called me and said this was the first time she had been warm in almost two days. PUD’s compassionate response was so appreciated (particularly during these times).

Thank you for taking care of my friend.
