Due to the construction of the roundabout on the North side of the Hood Canal Bridge, residents dependent upon public transit are being left without transit. Despite numerous calls to Jefferson Transit, our plight remains unaddressed.
During WSDOT’s first iteration of limiting traffic flow onto Paradise Bay Road, the transit folks decided to not use the detour provided and instead closed off transportation from Port Ludlow Village to Paradise Bay. They have now closed transit both ways - this began on Monday, October 21 despite WSDOT not closing this route until October 24.
The folks at Jefferson Transit apparently lack critical and creative thinking skills. They could set up a different schedule to serve us and use the smaller Kingston bus to do so. They could set up a schedule that gets us to the bus stops in Port Ludlow so we can connect to the #7. Even once or twice a day a few days a week would be very helpful.
It has already been over three weeks — add in WSDOT’s projected closure of three more weeks and it is now looking very dire. Doctor appointments need to be rescheduled - grocery trips cannot be completed. Shame on Jefferson Transit.
