Leader content inappropriate for schools

I am concerned about the overall content of The Leader, not only for my adult reasons, but for what it exposes children to.

During the school year, The Leader provides about 500 copies of the paper to classes ranging from elementary school to high school, as an “educational” service.

Crime and danger are prominent topics. The Leader itself advertises with drippingly-moist parted red lipstick lips: an image I find blatantly sexual and sexist. There is little coverage of the hundreds of local youth involved in sports and educational activities, at the same time as there are multi-page spreads on glass butt plugs, a skull-holding burlesque queen in sexy poses and dominatrix costuming, and performance art by a naked couple in death-like masks shaving each other’s bodies. Is this the National Enquirer or a local paper?

I shudder to think of third graders reading such tabloid-like content.
