The following is a log of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office incidents from Nov. 5-18.

Nov. 5

1 a.m. – Case 18-12180 –

A deputy was dispatched to the 14000 block of Center Road in response to a complaint of a cow in the road. The owner was found and cited for animal at large.

Nov. 6

2 p.m. – Case 18-12234 – Deputies and East Jefferson Fire Rescue were called to a traffic collision on Totem Ridge Road at Redeemer Way. A single vehicle drove off the roadway and struck a tree. None of the occupants wore seat belts. All three were transported to hospitals; one had to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Nov. 10

1 a.m. – Case 18-12362 – Deputies contacted a male subject they knew had an outstanding arrest warrant. When he was arrested, methamphetamine was found on his person. He was arrested for both the warrant and meth possession.

Nov. 13

1 a.m. – Case 18-12474 –

A deputy contacted a man who was passed out in a truck parked in the U.S. Bank parking lot in Quilcene. The deputy saw drug paraphernalia clearly visible inside the truck. The suspect was arrested for possession of heroin.

3 p.m. – Case 18-12500 –

The staff at Mountain Propane called for a deputy due to a customer making threats. The customer was upset with the cost of service and made threats against an employee. The suspect left before the deputy arrived.

Nov. 14

12:44 p.m. – Case 18-12537 –

A 911 caller from Quilcene School called to report several shots coming from a house just north of the school. Several deputies responded. School officials placed the school on lockdown as a precaution. Once deputies were on scene, it was determined the shots were farther north than originally reported and no crime had occurred.

11:27 a.m. – Case 18-12533 – Deputies responded to a house in Port Hadlock regarding an unwanted person. Deputies arrived and contacted the suspect, who had been advised earlier he would be subject to arrest if he returned. He was arrested.

Nov. 16

1 a.m. – Case 18-12614 – Deputies responded to a Port Ludlow address to a report of a domestic disturbance. After the deputies arrived, it was determined there had been no assault. The incident was limited to a verbal argument.

10:31 a.m. – Case 18-12629 – Deputies responded to a report of a pickup that had been driven off Center Road at Taison Lane. The vehicle was occupied by a man and woman. The female driver reported she was eating cookies when she drove off the road. The vehicle was on its side in the ditch. The driver was transported to a hospital and was cited.

Nov. 18

3:44 a.m. – Case 18-12712 –

A deputy stopped a vehicle in Port Townsend. At the conclusion of the investigation, the driver was booked for driving while under the influence, possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license.

Port Townsend police issued six citations during the week of Nov. 19-24. Four tickets were issued for speeding; one was issued to a driver for no valid operator’s license; one was issued to the registered owner of a vehicle parked on a city street with expired tags.

Nov. 19

2:50 p.m. – A business owner filed a report with police about a weed eater missing from a trailer used by his landscaping business. The reporting party said a former employee had been seen in the area, backing her vehicle up to the trailer. Then she left when an employee went to confront her. The value of the weed eater was estimated at $327.

Nov. 20

10:50 a.m. – A resident contacted police to report the theft of a ceramic sculpture from his front porch. The statue, valued at $1,200, was described as being about 37 inches tall, with a crow’s head on a human-like body and an owl on one arm. The sculpture weighs about 40 pounds.

Nov. 21

1:45 p.m. – A 34-year-old female was arrested for shoplifting from a local store. The female was stopped by an employee with two bags of groceries totaling $265, which were recovered. She was issued a citation for theft and a trespass notice from the store before being released on her own recognizance.

Nov. 22

11:30 a.m. – A driver was cited and released after being stopped on Cook Avenue for traveling 38 mph in a 25 mph construction zone with a suspended license and no insurance.

5 p.m. – A 31-year-old male was arrested after police responded to a store on Lawrence Street when a commercial burglar alarm went off. The man was seen inside the store near the beer cooler when police arrived. Upon entering the building, police found the suspect hiding in a storage locker in the basement. He was taken into custody, transported to jail and charged with third-degree theft and burglary.
