A 62-year-old Port Townsend man was arrested for selling heroin and methamphetamines near a bus stop in Port Townsend on May 8. Lorentz A. Monsaas was arrested for two counts of delivery of heroin, two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a bus stop and one count of unlawful possession of paraphernalia. At his home at the trailer park near the Four Corners store at 6062 SR20, investigators found approximately $33,000 worth of heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines, and other drugs. The arrest came after an investigation conducted by the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team and members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and Port Townsend Police Department. The investigation began after OPNET developed a confidential informant with information about Monsaas. After investigators made several covert purchases of heroin and methamphetamine from Monsaas, a warrant was served at 6 a.m. on May 8. At Monsaas’ home, investigators found 142.5 grams of heroin, 109.1 grams of cocaine, 41.4 grams of methamphetamine, 5 suboxone strips, and 2 oxycodone pills. Monsaas was booked into the Jefferson County Jail and awaits trial.
