Last chance Saturday: Final PT Farmers Market of 2020 draws crowd

Posted

Time was of the essence.

An early crowd gathered at the usual spot at Tyler and Lawrence streets in Uptown for the last Port Townsend Farmers Market of the year — looking to fill their bags with local produce, crafts, baked goods and more before the year-end hiatus and the day’s predicted deluge began.

The market has been operating with modified health and safety guidelines, capitalizing on its outdoor setting and continuing to facilitate shoppers’ desire for seasonal produce, pasture-raised meat, seafood, artisan cheeses, hard cider, wine, baked goods, arts and crafts and more.

The market finale for 2020 was Dec. 19. It expects to return again in April, when it will be held every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through mid-December.

Vendors present Saturday included Duckabush Mushrooms, Crust Bakery, Pane d’Amore, Port Townsend Coffee Roasting Company, Red Dog Farm, Chimacum Valley Dairy, and Gatheringplace, among others.

For a full list of vendors and a participant application as well as additional information, visit www.jcfmarkets.org or search “Jefferson County Farmers Market” on Facebook.
