The time for east Jefferson County’s youth to display their unique talents has arrived.

Coming up in late February, the Port Townsend Kiwanis Club’s 2023 Stars of Tomorrow Show is set to kick off with the club announcing the audition date for talent applicants.

As with many recent in-person events, this year’s production marks a triumphant return of the Stars of Tomorrow Show after a three-year delay.

Auditions will be from 3:15 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at Blue Heron Middle School.

As for the big show, it will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 in the Port Townsend High School Auditorium.

Application forms and guidelines for the show can be downloaded from the Kiwanis Club website at ptkiwanis.org, and interested parties can visit the event’s Facebook page at facebook.com/StarsOfTomorrowPt.

Applications should be filled out and brought to the audition at Blue Heron Middle School.

All types of performing arts are allowed including musical instruments of all kinds, vocal, dance, and theater. Participants may perform solo or as a duet, trio, or small group.

Auditions will be held to determine which acts are invited to take part in the show and to conduct a brief interview with participants. Public, private, or home-schooled students throughout east Jefferson County are encouraged to participate.

This year’s show will have three divisions or age groups. The groups are the Presentation Division (grades kindergarten through sixth), Junior Division (grades seventh through ninth), and Senior Division (grades 10th through 12th). The Presentation Division is non-competitive while the two other divisions will compete for scholarships and special awards from sponsors.

Any student who appears with a group or another student from a higher division will compete at the higher division, as well.
