Kenneth “Ken” Harlan Paddock, 63, passed away at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington on Jan. 2, 2021 after complications due to small cell lung cancer.
He was born on April 29, 1957 to Harlan Paddock and Phyllis Ingalls, at Madigan Army Hospital in Fort Lewis, Washington. He grew up on Marrowstone Island where many of his family still remain.
Ken worked for HSA in Camas, Washington, as Production Supervisor for over 20 years until they shut down local operations in 2015. He then went on to learn the HVACR trade at Charter College, graduating as a student ambassador, and maintaining dean’s list status throughout the program. He retired in 2020 as a Production Lead at Ajinomoto Windsor in Portland, Oregon. However, he always said his favorite job was “running a rock drill and blowing stuff up.” After Mount St. Helens blew he worked on a crew that built and repaired roads.
Ken is preceded in death by his in-laws, Roy and Leona Wolk of Washougal, Washington.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Heidi; daughter, Heather and son-in-law Branden of Vancouver; son, Kenny of Seattle, Washington; sister-in-law Lee Ann and her family of Washougal, Washington; his parents; brothers, Rolland “Rolly,” Daryl, and Michael; sister, Jeanine; and their families all residing in the Puget Sound area. Gatherings will be held to honor Ken at a later time. Go Hawks!
