Judith Ann (Anglin) Erickson, a Port Townsend native, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 in De Pere, Wisconsin, after a courageous battle against Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1942 to Boyd Anglin and Edith Anglin (Addie) in Port Townsend. While attending Port Townsend High School, she worked at a local drive-in and for the phone company as a switchboard operator, and was also member of the Rhododendron Festival Queen’s Court in 1959.

After moving to Antioch, CA she met and married Edward Erickson. They had two sons, Jon in 1965 and Marc in 1969. The family moved to Caldwell, ID in 1970 where Judy later worked for the Salvation Army and at King’s Variety Store. In 1989, Judy returned to her hometown of Port Townsend and went to work for Swain’s.

Often described as “such as sweet lady,” Judy loved to read. Besides devouring self-improvement books, Christmas novels and many magazines, she eagerly awaited the Sunday edition of The Seattle Times. She would spend hours reading every story and working through the crossword puzzle. Her other favorite pastime was simple – walking.

But her passion and reason for getting up each day was the love for her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, and what brought the biggest smile to her face and twinkle to her stunning blue-green eyes.

Judy is survived by her two sons, Jon Erickson of Whitestown, IN, and Marc (and Lisa) Erickson of Howard, WI; her two beloved, red-headed grandchildren, Derek Erickson of Oconto Falls, WI and Jenna Erickson of Howard, WI; and her siblings, Doug (and Ellen) Anglin of Chimacum, Janice Chute of Port Townsend and Virginia Tomlinson of Port Angeles.

Family, friends and acquaintances are invited to attend interment services at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Port Townsend, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., and a celebration of her life gathering at the Northwest Maritime Center (Maritime Room East) at 3 p.m.

The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff of Angels on Arcadian, AseraCare Hospice and all the Green Bay-area medical staff that provided care for Judy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to support Alzheimer’s research.
