Joy Benton Goodrich, age 81, passed away on August 13, 2018 in Port Townsend, WA. The wife of Quentin Goodrich, Joy and Quent shared forty years of marriage together.

Born in Yellville, Arkansas, Joy was the daughter of Floyd and Myrtle Benton. Joy and Quent discovered Port Ludlow while sailing in 1976 and decided to make Port Ludlow their permanent home. A pioneer in her day, Joy opened her own business, Speedy Office Services (SOS Printing) in Port Townsend. Quent decided to join the business and they successfully ran the business together for twenty years before retiring.  

Joy graduated from Arkansas Tech with a bachelor’s degree in business. She was a member of the East Jefferson Rotary, AAUW and various other organizations. She enjoyed gardening and decorating.  

Joy is survived by her spouse, Quentin Goodrich, children, Thomas Peckman, Douglas Peckman, and Ginger Brown, step children, Lindsey Reed and Dean Goodrich, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Marty Peckman.

The memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Port Ludlow Beach Club, 121 Marina View Dr, Port Ludlow, WA 98365.
