With heavy hearts, we, the family of Joann Lemmerman Saul, share the sorrowful news of her passing on February 21, 2025, while enjoying a vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Joann was born on June 16, 1963, in Manhattan, NY, to Harold “Hal” Lemmerman and Mary Jo Nichols. Raised in Western Massachusetts, she later attended the University of Massachusetts before embarking on an adventurous journey to Alaska with a friend in 1984. It was in Anchorage that she met Bryan Saul, and the two married in 1985.

In 1995, Joann and her family relocated to Port Townsend, WA, where she became a beloved member of the community. A visionary entrepreneur, she established a collection of thriving businesses, including four restaurants, a catering company, and an event rental service.

Joann’s passion for life extended beyond her professional achievements. She was a talented chef and dedicated gardener who delighted in growing food and crafting meals that brought people together. Her presence at local events was a testament to her unwavering community spirit, and she shared her gifts with a generosity that touched countless lives.

Those fortunate enough to know her will remember her for her sharp wit, infectious laughter, and unique charm. Joann’s absence leaves a profound void, but her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Joann is survived by her former husband, Bryan Saul; her children, Brooke (Don), Jacob (Hailee), and Nicholas (Hailee Sue); and her four adored grandchildren: Thomas, Layla, Andrew, and Macy.

A family memorial service will be held at a later date to honor her remarkable life.
