Jefferson Land Trust hosts its annual Conservation Breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St.
Jefferson Land Trust is a grassroots organization that relies on community support to protect the local farms, forests and wild spaces that are integral to the landscape and way of life in Jefferson County. This event is a chance to hear about opportunities to come together to find common ground, according to a press release.
“We are hearing and seeing so much lately that divides us, here at home and across the nation,” said Richard Tucker, Jefferson Land Trust’s executive director. “What we don’t hear about so often are the commonalities we share. We all want safe, healthy communities. We want clean water, fresh air, good food and a good future for ourselves and our children.
“Here on the Olympic Peninsula, we love this place and appreciate the outdoors. It’s something most everyone on the peninsula shares in common, bridging most all divides. And it’s the Land Trust’s mission, through the support of the local community, to honor and protect this common ground.”
RSVP to the Land Trust at 379-9501 or
info@saveland.org by Feb. 16 to reserve a seat at the table.
