The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 243 calls for service between Saturday, Feb. 26 and Friday, March 4. Below are selected reports.

At 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 in Port Ludlow, a caller said a neighbor was drunk and was harassing the caller and his friends.

The caller said the neighbor ran out of his house and swung at the caller with a flashlight, and also said something about stabbing him.

The caller said he maced the neighbor and he didn’t know if the man had a knife. The caller was currently walking around and was worried about returning to his home.

He eventually went home but did not see the neighbor anyway.

Authorities later took one person into custody, but additional details weren’t available.

At 3:21 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 in Port Ludlow, a woman said she was staying at a female friend’s house but had been assaulted.

The woman said the friend put her hands around her throat twice today and last night, as well. The woman was rambling and hard to understand; the caller did not know the address of the home.

She said the woman was trying to make her leave the house and she may need help getting back in.

A deputy responded and the woman called back. She said she was having her boyfriend take her to the hospital and asked law enforcement not to respond.

At 2:53 p.m. Friday, March 4 in Port Hadlock, a caller who reported a possible burglar earlier in the week said the man was back and was looking through windows of the home.

He then left on foot toward Chimacum Creek.

Two deputies responded but could not locate the man.

At 3:16 p.m. Friday, March 4 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported an ongoing issue of a prowler. The resident just saw someone walk across the property. He was wearing a hoodie and carrying a stick.

The caller said the man asked him, “Where’s the party at?”

Two deputies patrolled the area but could not find him.

At 3:28 p.m. Friday, March 4 in Port Hadlock, a caller said someone at the neighbor’s house, described as a male between 17 and 22, shot a BB gun at a truck and also at the caller’s friend.

The victim was hit in the forehead and on the elbow.

The shooter then returned to the neighbor’s house.

The victim was a 25-year-old man but said he did not need medical assistance.

A deputy visited the neighbor’s home, and the residents denied knowing anyone who would be the shooter.

Under more persuasive questioning, they admitted they knew the shooter but he had already left and they didn’t know anything about him shooting someone.

The victim did not want to press charges but said he would get a no-contact order. Photos were taken of the injuries and the damage to the truck.

Neighbors said the shooter stops by at random, but they added they may think twice about having him around anymore.

A deputy was told the shooter had visited the victims before the incident to ask them if they had pellets or BBs. After he was given pellets or BBs, he then started shooting at them.

One of the victims later contacted authorities and said there was video of the man being shot with the pellet gun. Someone had recorded the incident and had shared it on Snapchat.
