Jefferson County Sheriff's Log | The party's over

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 273 calls for service between Friday, Feb. 10 and Friday, Feb. 17. Below are selected reports.

At 9:06 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13 in Brinnon, a caller reported finding beer cans and trash burning in a fire pit on a property that should be unoccupied.

A deputy responded and found no one had entered the vacant home on the propery.

At 11:23 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13 in Port Ludlow, a 66-year-old man was treated for a dog bite to his cheek.

The man had returned home after having his leg amputated. When he got up from the couch, he lost his balance and fell on top of his dog, Ozzie, which caused the animal to bite him.

At 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 in Quilcene, a man reported a burglary at his home. 

Someone opened an unlocked door to his camper trailer. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to be missing.

At 9:54 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 in Quilcene, a resident reported a trespassing incident and subsequent theft.

Someone came onto his property and took two game cameras. Photos of the suspect were retrieved, but a deputy did not recognize the suspect. The loss was estimated at $300.

At 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 in Chimacum, a caller reported the theft of a saw, gas can, air compressor, grease gun, and torque wrench from inside a shop.

The items were last seen two weeks ago. 

At 7:58 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17 in Port Ludlow, a caller reported a case of littering. A large amount of trash had been left at a logging site.

A deputy responded and noted a half dozen bags were left at the entrance to an area that had been logged.
