The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 244 calls for service between Saturday, April 30 and Friday, May 6. Below are selected reports.

At 8:27 a.m. Thursday, May 5 in Port Ludlow, a caller said a shed had been broken into sometime in the last week.

Six deep-water fishing poles, each valued between $200 to $300, were missing.

A deputy responded and determined someone had used force to pull the lock for the shed off the trim on the door to gain access.

There were no suspects.

At 10:53 p.m. Thursday, May 5 in Port Ludlow, a caller reported a suspicious person who was walking along the side of Teal Lake Road.

The caller said it was sketchy because she had never seen anyone on that stretch of road so late at night, and said there were no homes in the area.

The person was dressed in dark-colored clothing.

A deputy patrolled the area but did not find anyone on foot.

At 11:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5 in Port Ludlow, a caller said he was watching footage from a camera that was on the roof of a home and saw someone on the property who should not be there.

The caller said he was on his way from Poulsbo to the property.

A deputy responded to the property and found the caller was already there. He said he was a general contractor and he had put up security cameras after several items had been taken from the property a few weeks earlier.

The contractor said there had been an ongoing issue with a person scoping out job sites in the area.

At 6:18 a.m. Friday, May 6 in Port Ludlow, a resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked nearby and thought someone was inside shooting up.

Someone in the vehicle then dumped garbage and left the scene.

The vehicle was described as a small sedan, possibly a Honda, that had plastic-covered windows.

A license plate number had been noted, and a deputy later found the vehicle parked somewhere else with no one inside.

At 10:05 a.m. Friday, May 6 in Brinnon, a caller at the country store said someone had entered the business through a door that had been unlocked.

An image of the intruder was found on the doorbell camera.

The burglar entered the store about 7:45 p.m. the night before, and took two donuts worth $6 and 25 boxes of cigarettes that were valued at $250.

Nothing was damaged.

The person was wearing jeans and a dark-colored jacket.
