The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 237 calls for service between Saturday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 23. Below are selected reports.
At 7:25 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 in Port Ludlow, a caller in the 800 block of South Point Road reported hearing gunshots echoing in the area.
A deputy checked the area and did not hear any gunshots or explosions.
At 9:01 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 in Port Ludlow, a prowler was reported near Center Road and Center Loop Road.
Someone broke into a vehicle through a driver’s side window.
Nothing appeared to be missing. There are no suspects.
At 2:57 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 in Port Ludlow, two abandoned bicycles were found in the 800 block of South Point Road.
The bikes appeared to have been there for a few weeks.
Authorities were unable to determine who owned the bikes.
At 3:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 in Quilcene, a resident was confronted by a neighbor who was armed with a firearm.
The neighbor put the gun to the caller’s head and said, “I’m going to shoot you, [expletive].”
The dispute was part of a feud between the parties that has been ongoing for 10 years. The caller later reported hearing a gunshot but was unsure if it was related to the earlier dispute.
Deputies responded and the neighbor was arrested for aiming or discharging a firearm.
At 7:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 in Port Ludlow, a traffic hazard was reported in the 1000 block of Paradise Bay Road.
A deceased deer was blocking the roadway.
At 12:14 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 in Quilcene, a caller reported being threatened on the school campus.
The caller said a student was making inappropriate comments about a classmate.
A deputy responded and determined that no crime had been committed, and school officials would deal with the issue.
