The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 245 calls for service between Saturday, March 11 and Friday, March 17. Below are selected reports.
At 4:59 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 in Port Hadlock, a burglary was report on South Old Flagler Road.
The caller said a brother-in-law broke into the home without permission. He was looking for his wife.
The caller said the incident happened Dec. 23.
At 5:46 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 in Port Hadlock, a woman said someone broke into her RV while she was in jail over the weekend.
A lock box and other items were missing. The loss was estimated at more than $1,000.
The woman said a window had been found left open. She called back to say her friend was able to retrieve some of the missing coins. The caller wanted to talk to deputies about text messages that had been sent by the person who had the coins.
At 7 a.m. Thursday, March 16 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported an unwanted person. A man was sitting on a chair under the carport, near the back door. He had a bicycle nearby, and multiple items were strewn about.
A deputy contacted the man, who claimed the Poulsbo Police Department had dropped him off. He was trying to get to a trailer park to meet a friend’s sister.
The man was asked to move on.
