The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 612 calls for service between Saturday, Aug. 27 and Friday, Sept. 9. Below are selected reports.

At 6:59 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Nordland, a man reported threats after parking on Flagler Road.

He said he thought someone stuck an ice pick in his tire.

The man said he had parked in the area years ago to disapproval. He recalled getting notes left on his car by an unknown suspect.

The man said his truck wasn’t blocking the gate, because it appeared the gate nearby wasn’t being used.

When he parked at the spot today, he said someone in a truck pulled up and yelled out the window, “Can I help you?” in an aggressive manner.

When the man replied, “No, can I help you?”, the person in the truck responded with, “It would be a shame if you came back and your tire was flat.”

The man said he returned to his vehicle three hours later and it had a flat tire.

He said the puncture was in the tread and not the sidewall of the tire.

At 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6 in Port Hadlock, a caller said someone had made threats to his wife.

A man was walking down the street with his pit bull when he told the caller’s wife “to shut the F up.”

The dispute appears to be an ongoing feud. A deputy determined the caller’s wife appeared to instigate the verbal confrontation.

The other man had a history of letting his white pit bull on the caller’s property, and the caller said they had been told to file for anti-harassment order.

The man walking the dog was likely provoked by the caller’s wife telling him, “Oh, you’re back.”

The caller said they will not engage in conversation any longer with the man.
