The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 235 calls for service between Saturday, Oct. 22 and Friday, Oct. 28. Below are selected reports.

At 5:08 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported a potential burglary.

A window to the home had been damaged, but nothing appeared to be missing.

The caller said she spoke with her son about the damage, and he denied any involvement.

The woman investigated further and was now of the opinion that the damage was done by a cat that had escaped out the window.

The woman reported a missing cat.

At 9:47 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 in Port Hadlock, a caller said she had discovered her aunt’s storage unit had been burglarized.

Someone broke the lock to the unit and went through everything inside. A deputy noted the storage unit was part of a string of thefts in the area that had already been reported.

The caller said her aunt was receiving hospice care, and it was unknown exactly what was taken in the burglary.

At 11:59 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 in Port Hadlock, a resident reported the theft of items from his yard.

The man said he was making a list that included the values of missing things and will call back when it is complete.
