The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 600 calls for service between Saturday, March 19 and Friday, April 1. Below are selected reports.

At 1:54 p.m. Sunday, March 27 in Port Ludlow, a caller said he had been at an advertised estate sale 10 minutes earlier when a resident at the property put a gun to his face.

The caller then said he left.

The man with the gun was described as being in his 60s, and the caller was concerned about other people who may have been going to the address for the sale.

The caller told the deputy he had tried to buy lumber from the man at the sale, but the man got a shotgun and pointed it at him, and asked him to leave.

As the caller was gathering up his tools, he said the other man hit the door with the butt of the gun and again told him to leave.

When asked if he wanted to pursue charges, the caller said he didn’t know what he wanted to do.

A deputy contacted the suspect, who said the man had come over but was asked to leave after they got into an argument.

The man said he had been holding a pellet gun that was not loaded. He said he got the gun because he just wanted the man to leave because he was tired of arguing with him.

A deputy confirmed the weapon was a pellet gun and determined that no crime had been committed.

At 10:31 a.m. Monday, March 28 in Port Ludlow, someone came to the sheriff’s office to report the theft of a package that had been taken from their porch.

The package contained an order of glass awards that were going to be laser etched.

The loss was estimated at $400.

At 7:04 p.m. Monday, March 28 in Brinnon, a caller reported being followed by someone at the Brinnon General Store up to the Lazy C Ranch during a road rage incident.

Someone in a green Jeep got behind the caller and would pass them, only to slam on the brakes and begin yelling at them.

The caller said a boyfriend instigated the confrontation after telling the Jeep owner that their vehicle was “a piece of s***.”

The vehicle was later seen driving by the house, and the driver was revving the engine.

The Jeep was described as lacking a front bumper and having stickers all over the back window.

A deputy responded but the Jeep could not be found.

The caller was advised to contact law enforcement if anything happened in the future.

At 7:39 a.m. Tuesday, March 29 in Nordland, a caller who had just built a home on Marrowstone Island was told by a neighbor that someone had pulled in the driveway about 6 a.m., then cut across the yard of freshly graded dirt and “tore it up.”

The person called back 15 minutes later after noticing a one-gallon gas can for his chainsaw was missing.
