The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 191 calls for service between Saturday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept. 17. Below are selected reports.

At 11:55 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 in Port Ludlow, a 19-year-old woman was worried about a man who kept showing up at her work. He had also been seen hanging out near her home.

A deputy suggested she obtain a protection order from the court. 

At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15 in Port Ludlow, a theft was reported by a man dressed in black.

The person may have gotten access to the property via a nearby logging road.

The victim said he was in a band in the 1990s and had original CDs from that time that appeared to be missing.

At 12:20 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 in Port Hadlock, a caller said someone tried to break into his storage unit.

Someone had tampered with the lock to the unit, and a key was shoved in the lock but it broke off.

It was unknown when the burglary attempt happened.

At 4:46 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 in Port Ludlow, a caller said a package that contained two wireless microphones that were supposed to be delivered to the address had been stolen.

The caller said the package may have gone to the wrong address, but needed a case number to get the items replaced.

At 6:37 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 in Port Hadlock, a caller said he was hit on the head with a rock.

Another person involved in the incident said the rock had simply broken loose and happened to hit the person on the head.

The victim was reported to have breathing issues.

A deputy responded and determined an assault had occurred following a dispute over money, and the incident involved mutual juvenile combatants until a third party jumped in.

All of the juveniles were very uncooperative. The victim wanted to press charges, and one person was taken into custody.

A deputy investigated and determined the person who had been hurt had been in the group of primary aggressors, while the juvenile who was arrested may have acted in self-defense.

The juvenile was released into his aunt’s custody.
