The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 240 calls for service between Saturday, April 16 and Friday, April 22. Below are selected reports.

At 8:02 a.m. Friday, April 22 in Port Hadlock, an employee of the post office said she found a bundle of mail on her street while she was on her way into work.

She asked that an officer retrieve the bundle of mail.

The mail was found, and it appeared to have been opened, gone through, then dumped on West Uncas Road.

The items had mailing addresses from South Point Road.

At 9:59 a.m. Friday, April 22 in Port Ludlow, a caller said a woman was assaulting their girlfriend. One woman was swinging a metal weapon around.

The woman, who was pregnant, was hit in the face twice.

The other woman said the confrontation escalated after someone spit in her face.

A deputy contacted the woman who said she had been hit, and she said she had twice been pushed in the throat by the other woman’s forearm.

At 11:31 a.m. Friday, April 22 in Quilcene, a school counselor said a student appeared to be blackmailing another student, who allegedly said he needed money fast and he needed to kill himself.

The caller did not think the student was actually suicidal. His parents were contacted but they did not want the incident reported.

The counselor said the incident should be documented, and said the person who was doing the blackmailing was suspended from school.

At 1:38 p.m. Friday, April 22 in Quilcene, a residence was burglarized on April 7
and April 15. A caller had reviewed footage from a game camera and saw one person enter the home, then two people come back less than a week later.

Multiple items were missing, including antique jugs and a water pump to a mobile home.

A front window to the home was broken and the front door was damaged as well. The home appeared to have been ransacked.

At some point, someone made a hole in a lawn chair and used it to defecate on the deck.
