The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 235 calls for service between Saturday, April 9 and Friday, April 16. Below are selected reports.

At 12:03 p.m. Sunday, April 10 in Port Townsend, the hospital made a required call about a dog bite.

A 22-month-old infant was bitten by the family dog.

At 6:24 p.m. Sunday, April 10 in Port Townsend, a driver was pulled over on South Discovery Road at Black Bear Road.

The driver was cited for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

At 9:05 a.m. Monday, April 11 in Port Hadlock, a resident complained about barking dog noises coming from a nearby property.

The resident didn’t want law enforcement to actually contact the dog owner, but when told the only way to address the issue was to have the pet owner contacted, the caller agreed.

A deputy found the residence with the noisy dogs. The owner said he had four dogs at his house and was very aware of the barking.

The deputy suggested noise-control measures and educated the dog owner about the county’s noise ordinance. A warning was given.

At 12:16 p.m. Monday, April 11 in Quilcene, a student reportedly took another student’s house key and would not return it.

The student was in the principal’s office, and law enforcement was told that everything had been done at the school to find the key.

A student eventually provided the key, but said she found it in the garage.

At 3:06 p.m. Monday, April 11 in Brinnon, a caller said a white Pace American cargo trailer was stolen in the past couple of days.

There were tools inside.

At 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported the presence of a person who was thought to be a registered sex offender.

The caller was told the person in question had no restrictions on where they could be.

At 11:02 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 in Port Ludlow, a person called to see if a vehicle they had purchased was a stolen car.

A deputy determined the vehicle had not been reported as stolen. The caller was advised to contact the Washington State Department of Licensing to get a replacement title for the vehicle.
