Jefferson County Sheriff's Log | A bit incoherent

Posted

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 310 calls for service between Saturday, Aug. 20 and Friday, Aug. 26. Below are selected reports.

At 6:42 p.m. Wednesday,  Aug. 24 in Chimacum, a deputy arrested a man for theft after the deputy saw the man take a chainsaw from the back of an unoccupied truck that was parked at the gas station.

He was booked into jail for third-degree theft.

At 8:53 p.m. Wednesday,  Aug. 24 in Brinnon, a caller reported an assault that had just happened near Dosewallips Road.

A woman said a neighbor had pushed her when she tried to retrieve her dog. She was speaking rapidly and was incoherent at times.

She said the other person eventually pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the pickup she was in when she was leaving.

The woman could not describe the firearm in any detail. She said a man was with her who witnessed the incident.

A deputy tried to contact the suspect in the case but no one was home. Authorities were awaiting witness statements to continue the investigation.
