The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 215 calls for service between Saturday, Oct. 15 and Friday, Oct. 21. Below are selected reports.
At 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Port Ludlow, a caller said a relative had trashed the living room, and tipped over and busted a chair. A window on a car was also broken.
A deputy was told the person suspected of causing the damage was on foot on Beaver Valley Road, heading south.
The person was found at a bus stop in Port Ludlow, waiting for a bus to Port Townsend.
A deputy was told the rocking chair that had been broken was valued at $1,000, and the damaged window on the vehicle was actually the windshield.
The person apparently responsible for the damage was shocked when told the windshield had been broken, and also didn’t recall smashing the chair. He said he did not remember the incident at all.
A deputy determined the person has mental health issues. A report on the incident will be forwarded to the prosecutor.
At 2:59 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in Chimacum, an employee at the Chevron station reported an unwanted person.
The worker wanted the person trespassed from the business.
The unwelcome visitor was no longer there, and had left a few minutes earlier.
The worker was told to call back if the person returned, and he will be issued a trespassing order.
At 9:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21 in Port Hadlock, someone stole the 2021 and 2022 tabs from the license plate on a vehicle.
At 1:07 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 in Brinnon, a woman said she was calling on behalf of her father after it was discovered his storage unit had been burglarized.
The man lives in Idaho and had not been to the storage unit in 18 months. He had gone to the unit to retrieve his belongings.
The only things missing were old Navy items from his late wife’s brother and a recliner worth $3,000.
The daughter said she would email a list of items that her father knows to be missing on “one of these really bad weather days.”
