Jefferson County considers replacement of roof at Quilcene Community Center

Jefferson County commissioners were presented a contract this week for the replacement of the roof at the Quilcene Community Center.

County officials said the roof, installed in 1997, has major leak issues and has exceeded the recommended life as set by its manufacturer.

The county hopes to replace the roof with one that has a longer lifespan and is easier to maintain.

Jefferson County has picked Hope Systems to remove the old roof and install a new roof, including its flashings and venting.

The project will cost $84,824 and funding for the project will come from the county’s Construction and Renovation Fund.
