JeffCo Repair Goes Remote

Posted by PTMSC

What do you do with...
Your favorite sweater with a tear in the elbow?
A toaster that no longer works?
A vacuum that stopped working and has you stumped?
You bring it to a Repair Event!!

Jefferson County's first Repair Event was in February 2020 and we are planning another in-person event for March 2022! But until then, our Repair events are going remote!

Our next Drop-off event will be January 15th, 2022 from 1-3pm at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center Museum portico (the building next to the canteen).
Register your broken belonging for our next Drop-off event!
How it will work:
-Register your item for a Drop-off event and attend with your broken belongings in tow.
-A good rule of thumb: any item brought in for repair must be easily carried by one person.
-After the items are dropped off, volunteer fixers will pick up your items and repair them off-site. Volunteers are not expected to spend more time on items than they would during a normal Repair event, (~30 minutes) unless they would like to.
-In most cases, your belongings will be ready to be picked up at our following Drop-off/Pick-up event, approximately one month later.
-If the repair is outside of the scope of the fixer, they may be able to recommend temporary solutions or a professional in our area that could provide the needed services.
