Janie Sue Marcus died surrounded by her loved ones on January 12, 2020 in Port Townsend. She is survived by her fiancé Doug Lewis, her mother Naomi, daughter Jessica Etta Ewoldt, brothers Larry and Cliff, sister Emily (Willie) and many more whom she loved and cared for deeply.

Janie was born March 28, 1954 in Oceanside, New York. She married James Ewoldt in 1984. They were later divorced in 1988. She became engaged to Doug Lewis in 2012.

Janie was a central and groundbreaking Director of Resource Development at Rancho Santiago Community College and Santa Ana College for 25 years. At this position, she secured and managed millions of dollars in funding for both of these colleges. She was well-respected throughout her professional community.

Janie had many devoted friends who actively joined her in golfing, going to music events, making beach glass jewelry, traveling and many other passions.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Irvine, California at a later date.
