Jan Johnston 76, passed away on August 11, 2017, at the University of Washington Medical Center. Jan was born in Seattle, Washington, on July 24, 1941.
Jan attended the University of Washington and Chico State College studying accounting and obtaining a teaching credential. She later became an elementary school teacher and taught primarily fifth graders in Torrance, California, and in New Jersey and Saudi Arabia. She loved teaching and working with kids.
After retirement in Port Ludlow, Washington, Jan joined AAUW and became active in the investment club, Money Mavens, and in the book clubs. She also loved to travel and visited many countries around the globe.
Jan is survived by husband Dan, daughter Cindy Johnston and son Greg Johnston. She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends.
There will be a celebration of her life at 2 pm on Saturday, October 14, at the Commons in Fort Worden.
