James Peter Michelson passed away at the age of 93, at his home in Port Hadlock, WA on September 15th, 2018. He was born on July 14th, 1925 in Fairmount, Minnesota, to Alfred and Floy Michelson. He is survived by his sister Elma John, and brother Floyd Michelson. Pete was preceded in death by brother’s Glen and Harold and sister, Colleen Parker.

Pete married Sheila Mae Richardson on October 20th, 1947 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He lost the love of his life on June 26th, 1996. They had been happily married for 49 years.

Pete is survived by his three daughters, Linda Swanson, Bonnie Walters and Patricia Beckman, and their families. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Daniel James and Michael Allan.

Pete and Sheila’s family included nine grandchildren, Cory, Jessica, Dannie, Kevin, Brenda, Jenny, Kimberly, Michael and Christina, and also many great grandchildren and a few great great grandchildren.

Pete was honored for his military service during World War II and stationed at Wake Island as a Navy SEABEE.

Pete went to work for Cotton Construction running tug boats, building bridges, pile buck, and carpentry and was a member of the Carpenters Union. Pete was a supervisor for General Construction for many years.

Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, clam digging, playing his guitar and harmonica, and his family.

He loved walking on the Marrowstone Island beaches with his family and dog Cindy.

A graveside service was held at Greenwood Cemetery on Sept. 22.
