James (Jim) Springgate, age 75, of Port Townsend, Washington, died at home on July 12, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Jan. 8, 1947, in Caliente, Nevada to Henry E. and Isobel A. (Roper) Springgate. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1968 and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
On Jan. 21, 1971, Jim married Linda L. Reynolds.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Isobel; sisters, Marietta (Alan) Walter and Lena (Glen) Stoll. He is survived by his wife, Linda Springgate; son, Jason (Dawn) Springgate; daughters, Darlene Ulibarri and Alicia Springgate; brother, William (Sharon) Springgate; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 108 Airport Road, Port Townsend. Reception will follow immediately after at the Springgate home, 1322 12th St., Port Townsend. Please contact Linda Springgate at 360-531-3111 for further information.
