Industrial agriculture shouldn’t be in residential zone

Posted

Cottage Industry defined by the Oxford dictionary is: noun – a business or manufacturing activity carried on in a person’s home. “Weaving was an important cottage industry”

The lights, pumps and air filtration systems required for marijuana propagation, in my opinion, does not equate to weaving, sewing, baking and other traditional cottage industries. Indoor marijuana propagation is light industry and would best be zoned as such.

Marijuana propagation does not make sense in rural residential areas. Jefferson County, why not make zoning restrictions that make sense?

I understand, from attending planning commission meetings, rezoning marijuana propagation is not as simple as it could be.

I would appreciate the county officials moving forward as best they can.
