Because of weather concerns, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation have postponed a six-hour closure of the State Route 104 Hood Canal Bridge scheduled Friday night March 24.
Instead, the bridge will operate as normal. The span will remain open to traffic subject to typical closures for marine vessels, according to Doug Adamson, communications consultant for the state Department of Transportation.
Depending on weather and favorable tides, crews will resume a series of 6-hour night closures in early April. WSDOT will announce those closures as they are scheduled.
The closures are a key part of a WSDOT project to rebuild and replace the internal mechanics of the Hood Canal Bridge draw span.
