Local singer, songwriter and showman Paul Rogers is presenting his seventh annual Holiday Hi-Jinx Show two nights this year, from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Finnriver Farm and Cidery in Chimacum, and then again from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, at the Marvin G. Shields Memorial American Legion Post Hall 26 in downtown Port Townsend.

Rogers touted the Holiday Hi-Jinx Show as a Port Townsend tradition, featuring his own original tunes and a cast of what he deemed “top-notch” local talent, which this year includes San Francisco Bay Area musicians Tim Eschliman and Austin de Lone, for the legendary Christmas Jug Band, to round out the ensemble.

Rogers has also been performing with the Christmas Jug Band for more than 30 years, and this year, they’ll be performing selections from their new CD, “Live from the West Pole.”

“Having Tim and Audie come up to join us takes the show to a whole new level,” Rogers said. “We have such a blast performing our songs together, and I’m glad the Port Townsend area will get to experience it!”

Rogers is also looking forward to expanding the show out to Chimacum at Finnriver.

“It’s a great venue, and will help us increase awareness about the importance of the shelter,” Rogers said. “I’m especially excited to be able to bring the show to the acoustically improved American Legion. It’s right above the winter shelter, and it makes perfect sense for us to do the show in the same building. I guess you could say the Holiday Hi-Jinx Show is coming home.”

Over the years, the Holiday Hi-Jinx show has raised more than $8,000 for the winter shelter.

A suggested donation of $20 is requested for the Finnriver show, and tickets for the American Legion show are also $20.
