The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 194 calls between Saturday, Aug. 28 and the morning of Friday, Sept. 3. Below are selected reports.

At 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31
in Chimacum, someone hit a telephone-equipment box on the side of the road.

A deputy said it looked like the box had been damaged by a nearby fifth-wheel that someone had tried to turn around on the private road.

The fifth-wheel was still blocking much of the road.

At 8:01 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31 in Chimacum, an electric skateboard was reported stolen from a bedroom in a trailer.

The caller gave the name of a possible suspect, but wasn’t sure when the skateboard was taken, but the theft probably occurred sometime in the past two months.

The skateboard was still in the box when it was taken. The caller said when he opened the box, he found the skateboard was not inside.

The skateboard was valued at $500.

At 6:59 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1 in Brinnon, a caller reported threats that had been made near the Halfway House Restaurant and RV Park.

The caller said a neighbor from across the road was making death threats, and had vowed to kill or burn him.

“He’s done with it,” the caller added.

A dispatcher could hear a faint voice of a man yelling in the background.

The caller promised to stay in his trailer but he added that he “didn’t know what would happen” if the neighbor actually came over.

A responding deputy found the cause of the dispute to be alcohol, two times over.

No probable cause was determined for an actual arrest.

During a conversation with the neighbor, he appeared calm but wanted to talk about various conspiracy theories that  involved the Bushes, Clintons, and others.

At 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 in Chimacum, a caller said a woman with an aggressive dog had been seen at Camp Beausite NW.

She then ran into the woods.

The woman appeared to be possibly intoxicated, the caller added, as she stumbled and departed from view.

The dog was described as a shepherd, and the caller believed the woman was still on camp property.

A deputy contacted the caretaker but the woman and dog were not found. A deputy suspected the pair had been hiking in the Gibbs Lake area when they wandered onto the camp property.

At 6:09 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 in Brinnon, a person who had been hiking at Mount Walker returned to their 2011 Jeep Wrangler at the trailhead and found a window had been smashed.

Nothing from inside appeared to be missing. There were no other vehicles at the trailhead.

At 9:29 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3 in Port Hadlock, an unwanted person was reported.

A woman had tried to gain entry into the home through a door and windows, and eventually broke a window trying to get in.

The caller said the woman’s husband had been staying at the home, and the woman was trying to get to the husband but had been asked repeatedly to leave.

The homeowner was advised he could ask the man to agree to not come over, or evict him, so the woman would not return.
