Henry Walter Logan “Walter,” beloved partner of Richard Tucker, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Port Townsend.

He was born July 8, 1952 in Birmingham, Alabama to Jonas and Ruby Logan. Walter was a pilot who earned his pilot’s license in high school. He painted houses to pay for flying lessons and soloed the day we landed on the moon. When his parents told him as a child that he could not go to Superman school, Walter made the determination to learn to fly airplanes. He then became a devoted Sky King fan.

Walter graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Psychology and later earned his JD from the Birmingham School of Law. He practiced law in a small town east of Birmingham, which he described as a cross between a John Gresham novel and the Mayberry R.F.D. television series.

Born and raised in Alabama, Walter spent the last six years living in Port Townsend. Never at a loss for words or lacking an opinion, he will be missed for his keen intellect, innate kindness, and terrific sense of humor. Walter is survived by his partner Richard, his cousin Carol Weiser of Denver Colorado and his dog Nipper.
